This coming from a die hard Cubs fan, even though they spent 300 million dollars this year, I am afraid they do not have the pitching needed. Ted Lilly and Carlos Zambrano are a decent 1-2 but after that I am afraid .500 pitching record may be out of reach for the 3-5 pitchers. I am still a die hard and will root to the end but I am afraid money did not buy a ring this time.

I, being a die hard Cubs fan, and being of sound state of mind, believe that the Cubs will have a chance...but not til next year. They have a main amount of the componants that they need but are still struggling to find a relief pitcher that can chew up innings and a main number 2 or 3 hitter. Once they get those the pieces will be together for a run...baring injury or shoddy management when they are sold next year.

I'm a Cubs fan, and I don't think so. Our bats are looking decent, but we still need to have better pitchers. Yeah, Lilly and Marquis are ok, Rich Hill will probably pitch a whole lot better than last year, and Z, well, he's Z. You saw him yesterday. Anyways, with the Tribune company being sold, and the news of Cubs being sold next year, I'm sure there'll be even more changes, and we'll see. :)

They will be better than most think. The team looks good on paper and now needs to perform like it looks.

Baring injurys to key players the Cubs will contend.

a chance, everyone has a chance if they all stay healthy and you always need that player who is not the nomar but the russel martin. the unknown player to step up. but the cubs need pitching they have enough hitters, they should look into trading for pitching and i dont know why they gave prior and wood more cotracts. but if they get bullpen then they have a great chance.
