I'm in a pretty nice neighborhood in the USA, so I don't think about it much. I can't imagine what is like in some of those bad neighborhoods. I'm sure it's rough. I have read some horror stories about children getting kidnapped every single day down there in Mexico. It's a pretty scary world out there, so keep your eyes on your kids.

not very safe to be honest with you. with this new society of ours, the general idea of kidnapping to get a heavy ransom is all gone. as most things like the media, modelling, fashion revolve around sex and all that so do kidnappers.kids are kidnapped for sexual and physical abuse and no matter how strict safety limitations are they shall never be safe from being kidnapped. god forbid but a child can be kidnapped at any time anywhere and precaution i suppose is only for self comfort.

Not safe at all these days you gotta watch your kids like hawks! they don't have the freedom like the kids did back in the day when you could let your kids play out till dark, and let them wander the streets, Which is really un fair on today's kids as they have too many restrictions, which makes them rebel later on when there a bit older! My 10 year old son is always having a go at me coz i don't let him play in the woods near our house, when most kids his age are allowed. But the amount of times fights, drugs , fires and kids on motor bikes go steaming through there don't sound ideal does it? as for weirdos you'll never know if they live nearby.

A couple of weeks ago a man tried to get 2 primary school kids into his car near where i live, they managed to run away but he still came back a few days later. Luckily the police were waiting for him and he got arrested. Some people are sick.

It is OK...as long as you educate your kids about the danger!
You should have a kit ready...just in case something like that happens. This include a recent photo, height, weight, you can even put in DNA...by the way of a hair,a swab with saliva...change even six months or so. In the united states they have a program called Amber alert that has help recover thousands of kids. Parents really need to educate their kids!

I think that they are relatively safe. As long as your not letting them wander around alone across town or after dark, and they are supervised when playing outside, etc.. they should be fine. Also, keep an eye out when you are in public places for people who look suspicious and keep your children at your side.

Not very safe at all. In America we don't think about it much. If it was like it is in Iraq here, we would protect our children more.
