Because for some people on Answers there is a need to show their superior intellect by telling people how inferior they are.
It's a right wing ideology to keep up the impression of an all knowing brain trust.

There are a lot of leading questions on this site, and a lot of people are pushing one side or the other of an argument.
When these types of questions show up, you have those who preach to the choir, and those who attack the question.
Far be it for me to claim I have not done both, based on the question.
While I prefer those question that are not leading and promote a good exchange of information, I will hit those that are asking leading questions to show that their question was not very use-full.
There are a bunch of lemmings reading and posting, and we can not let them follow fools off a cliff.

Maybe because they feel insulted or offended by the way it is phrased. Many posters on YA deliberately set out to offend as many as possible when they post their "questions." Especially those on the political pages.

some questions are too obvious
some questions are asked but the questioner doesn't really want an answer but rather wants to make a point
some questions insinuate rather than seek
