How do you install a water line?

You need to dig a trench that conforms with your frost level to keep it from freezing. Then you start your pipe from the water feed (well or waterline). I always install 1" pipe for the supply. Then run additional pipe to the area you need water at. You left some important things out of your question such as what the line is for.
