try to get a job without the internet...
how bout that late call and apointment always bashing you in the ribs on your day off... thanks telephone...
hearing aids
heart stimulators
automatic ingestion coils (make food flow through intestine)
I use plastic every day and it was invented and is therefore technology...
If you just mean the electronic world we live in then yeah there isn't a day that goes by that i don't use some funny device. But am i dependant on it no. Look at the Amish... They seem to do well without all of it. Also i do think that if it were to all go away that alot of people would die from lack of understanding their environment.
I'm sorry if its all jumbled i tried to figure out the question but i need a little more...

take for example budgeting, most people match their lifestyle to their budget. 4000in, 3500 in bills. you are now commited. if you make 2000 in a month you are in trouble, no doubt, but how do people live on 800 a month. i bring home 4000 and pay 1800 in bills, i am not dependant on my income so much, the same goes for technology. if you have a cell phone and you put it down as a contact number and not the home phone for your bussiness, you are dependant on that particular technology. same with fax, email, and the like. if you wrap yourself in it tightly then you are going to be dependant. you just need to decide what you want to be dependant on.
Primarily, by definition: we are all dependant on some form of technology. If you manipulate anything, even clothing, hammer, or go tree-hugger and you still need a method of getting and keeping food and water: you are aplying human technology

My frustration with technology is the fact that it is so difficult to speak to a live person when there is a problem. If you've purchased electronic equipment lately and have had a problem, call their customer care line and you will go in a complete circle and still not get help.

It's already resembling that. In Denver very few people live close enough to their work to be able to walk. I believe its pretty much that way for the rest of the United States as well with some exceptions......New York, San Fran, etc.

America is big. All of Europe will fit east of the Mississippi River.

In my dad's later years in life he had a pacemaker installed. If needing one to stay alive isn't a perfect example for your question, I don't know what is.

very much agree to that, we are so busy with our technology crap that we forget to enjoy the finer things in life.
