I'd say 4. If I can afford, and feel up to it emotionally, I will have 4 children. Right now I have a 21 month old daughter and will start trying in a couple of months for baby #2. The friends that I have who come from families with 4 children love it. I just have 1 brother and wish that I had a bigger family. Of course you never know how many children you will have until you start having them. Having a baby is so much harder than you can imagine, and you just take it one baby at a time.

I've always thought 3. I have 2 children by birth, and I had to take in my nephew and neice (who were previously in an abusive home, and were half grown) Selfish as it may seem, that puts a damper on my plan to have 3 children of my own. Taking in two older children put us in a huge financial downfall! They are much more expensive than the younger ones! So I have 4 children that I claim to be mine, but realistically, I would love to carry out my plan to give birth to 3. Our finances just aren't strong enough for that though.

Depends on my future finacial situation.

I'm technicaly an only child... haveing only one brother, how was an adult by the time I came along.

My boyfriend comes from a big family. the oldest for 4 (not including all the stepkids!)

We both love the Idea of having a big family. But we want to be smart about it.

When we're ready to have kids.... I think we'll try for two. I want a boy and a girl. If that happens at two.... I think We'll stop. If not... and we are finaincialy stable enough.... I think we'll try for one more.

I think three woud be perfect. But We'll see!

My considered answer: ONE
Please know that I am old timer from a third world country, a pensioner, fairly comfortable financially, no health worries or anything. I have four grand children, small but very very enjoyable.
AND I still believe that people in the third world should stop at just one child.
With poor people there are too many miseries, too many health problems. It is very unfair for the poor children to make them live a life of misery and want. It is heart wrenching to see small children working, going without food and education. One child is enough.
