I was told by a Republican that it was the interest in Vincent Price and the Movie, "The Pit and the Pendulum". He said being a Republican growing up in a alcoholic house hold makes him react that way.

I guess it depends on how you define "torture." Denying someone a Koran to read or making him sit in a cell all day is NOT "torture."
I'm not a Republican, but I sure as hell am NOT a Democrat. I am tired of do-gooding lefty types who wail like PUSSlES over every little thing.
In certain cases, I would be ALL FOR torture. There have been cases in this country where a criminal has abducted someone and gets caught, but won't tell where the victim is. I would be FINE with torturing that creep to save someone. I really don't give a damn about the perp's self-esteem or psychological well-being or any of that crap. Torture away.

Speaking of redefining the definition of torture, how is throwing a koran in the toilet defined as torture? When was the last time a book was able to flush down a toilet? Is standing naked with a butt-ugly female pointing at your junk really torture? How about beheading?

torture should be used if it will help save lives especially American lives. What if 9/11 could have been prevented if we had someone and tortured him until they told us about it. Could we have stopped it? Probably. Are you telling me you would not have approved of stopping 9/11.
Torture should be last means, but if it is something that is as important as a terrorist attack or next "hit" on our army. I am all for it.
Why are democrats for pulling out of Iraq, when all that will do is lead to this same thing 10 years from now? First Bush started, Clinton stopped it for popularity, they rebuilt stronger than ever, thousands lost their life in 9/11, and you want to be made at Bush #2 for trying to make it end for good.

The only torture I see is the constant yammering and name calling by people like you who mistakenly feel that they're smarter than everyone else, and they usually are not. You are not the exception to that rule.
Why is the ticking time bomb thing nonsense, because you say it is? Who made you the arbitor of all things? There are a lot of time-sensative issues out there and I, for one, have no problem with our government taking steps to protect us from thos who wish to harm us because we have freedoms.
How dare you accuse anyone else of having a pea sized brain? I think that marks you as a bigot and not worthy of making any kind of judgement on anyone else.
That serious enough for you?

I believe that any and all means necessary to get information that could possibly save hundreds or thousands of lives is acceptable.
I know there are all the human rights side of the deal, but in all seriousness the bottom line is during war that goes with the territory, everyone does it and has done it in every war and will continue to do so in future wars.
I am in Iraq for 2nd time currently. I dont agree with stuff like idiot soldiers posing with prisoners and such because that was not to gather information. But to entertain themselves in a sick and demented way.
But I have to agree with using any methods when trying to get information through interrogation.

Your question assumes something you can neither prove nor with any validity claim about a group of individuals as large as Republicans. First, ask do Republican's actually approve of torture. You might find it shocking what you learn when you learn to ask the right questions.

Serious answers - Republicans don't approve of torture. You can't find any examples of it either. And don't tell me the interogation techniques used are torture, that is a redefining of the term torture.

So you are asking a question but giving us rules by which to answer it? Sorry, you don't get to control everyone this time. Torture, war, and the like are ugly, but neccesary evils. I condone saving innocent lives, you dems don't have the guts to do what is neccesary, nice fantasy world you live in.

Are you asking a question or just throwing out insults? Or are you one of hose smarter than everyone biased Liberals. I'll tell you what. If your wife or mother were being held by some dangerous man in the neighborhood, and I had a person I believed knew where she was, I'd get an answer out of him in about 2 minutes! You'd talk him to death.
