Can you establish residency in a different state by using a PO box? Or do you have to provide a real street address? Have about 2 1/2 years for my son to go to college.

Normally you get a Address that is a home and not a P.O. Box, then usually a Driver License or I.D. Card for that State. After 1 year you considered a permanent resident. AND, with new laws now you are checked by what is called "CDLIS" to prevent people from obtaining a Drivers License or I.D. in two or more States.
It states Commercial Driver's License, but, works for everyone!

Read the section on; "CDLIS Clearing House". This can be retro-active for years, regardless of Judgments.
