You don't. This is the subject of Robert Frost's poem, "The Road Not Taken." Just make your best choice and go forward without looking back and with no regrets - regardless of how it turns out or how it seems to turn out.

How does one decide WHAT?
There's no one way.
Deciding what to have for dinner is NOT the same thing as, say, deciding on a career.
For some decisions, any decision is right (it doesn't really matter all that much what you have for dinner tonight).
For many decisions, you can't know. You just have to do your best.
Some decisions are reversable.
Without any context, your "questions" are unanswerable.
Any decision that either increases the amount of fun or decreases the amount of suffering in the world is good.
Sometimes that's clear; sometimes not.

What a question! It depends upon what kind of deciscions you are thinking of. Lots of important dececions go without saying which is the right. For example when it comes to honesty, truthfulness, being kind, not selfish etc. You always know what is the right decisionl. But if you wonder which car to buy or which person to marry or which friends to cling to or in which town to live you may never know what is right or wrong. You don't know until afterwards. I suggest you put you life in the hands of the Lord and trust that he will guide you. But we are free to make the decisions we want to make, really, this is what is so fascinating with life.

Well theirs nothing much to say about this one other than what every other person in the worl is saying. You know that whole mess about " follow your heart", well what if your heart lies to you? What then? I think you should pick the choice that is your first instinct. Never second guess yourself. Live like there is no tommorrow. Always do somthing you will remember. Don't always not do somthing you will regret later because it might be the funnest thing you ever do in your life and you'll regret that you didn't do it!

When I'm not sure what to do in a situation, I usually try to imagine how I'll feel about it afterward. Hind sight is 20/20, so if you can imagine how you'll see it in hind sight, that may give you a clearer view of what you should do. Imagine all possible outcomes of each of your options. If you choose option A, what will happen later? How about option B? How will you feel about these outcomes if they actually happen? You'd be surprised how often the answer to your dilemma becomes obvious when you look at it this way.

If it's the hard thing to do, then it's the right thing to do. That's how you know. It never fails. Sometimes we know the right thing to do, but still do the wrong thing because it's easier and we can accept the consequences of that wrong choice because it's still easier than doing the right thing. We're human, imperfect and have free will. Hope this helps.

How does the decision make you feel? If you get positive energy from it, then it is probably the right decision. Listen to your gut instinct, it won't lead you astray.

You are then probably choosing the lesser of two evils & that is how you decide also.
