I'm a first-time mommy w/ a one year old son. Just curious to see what other parents have done.

I have a 3 year old and I plan on having another eventually but right now I'm waiting until I finish w/ college which will probably be another 2 to 3 years. Everyone thinks you shouldn't wait longer that 3 or 4 years so that your children will be close in age, but right now I have alot going on in my life and I want to be ready for my next one.

I have a 8, 4, 3 & am pregnant. So I waited 4 years b/w the first set; 11 months b/w the second set; and it'll be almost 4 years b/w the last two once I have this one. The two that are 11 months apart are a challenge being so close together, but I think it'll be great once they are a bit older.

I'll have an 8, 4, 3 and newborn by the end of this year.

I decided to get my two children close in age for the following reasons. They may have been in diapers at the same time, but the older one potty trained shortly after the birth of the little one, so I will spend less years changing diapers. Also, they are sharing clothes. My little one is pretty big, and clothes she wore only 6 months ago already fit the little one. I got pregnant when my first daughter was 1 year and 7 months. So she was already 2 years and 4 months when Selene (the new one) was born. I will tell you that having a toddler deep into the terrible twos and a newborn is very stressful, especially if you are in the middle of a crisis, but it can be done, and having them so close is wonderful for everyone involved.

My children are 2 years 8 months and 1 day and 3 mintues apart. I like the age difference 2-3 years I think is a good age difference.

I had my first two just under one year apart. They have always been close, never any jealousy. Actually, I had three under three years old. Never had a problem, was a "stay at home" mom.
Friends who had theirs two years apart had jealously problems, those who waited 'till the oldest was 6 years old and starting to school had no problems,,and each child had "alone time" with mom.

My boys are 19 months apart. It worked out good that way because I got my body back without having to lose it and gain it again, and have to lose it again, plus they are really close enough to enjoy some of the same things at the same time (disney world, into the same movies etc...) it's only starting to change now that my older son turned 12 ... he's just starting to not be "into" what he was last year that he now calls baby-ish... and my younger son hates that... LOL
But it really worked out in many was for me. So, I'd start trying now! Your already behind .... haha Good luck!

Well I have only have 1 child, but I recommend waiting at least 2 years before conceiving (3 if you had c-section) to allow your body proper recuperation.
