What are you, crazy?

You should really only give them approx. 5 lines of cocaine a night. Anything else is just plain wrong.

That's just not nice. My mother was old, took a lot of drugs, and ecstacy was the last thing she needed. Fact is, many old people take lots of drugs because their bodies are falling apart and they need the stuff. My mother took high blood pressure medication, steroids (for her temporal arteritis, which ultimately killed her), anti-depressants (due to her sadness over the death of my father shortly before my own mother's death), thyroid medication, heart medication, bone loss medication, and a couple of other medications I can't remember. This was all done just so that my mother could function. She was a very active woman all her life, and her medical condition caused her to be sedentary because the steroids she took to prevent blindness or stroke caused myopathy (weakness) of her muscles and she could barely stand, let alone walk. As a result, she developed blood clots in her legs which went to her heart and killed her. The day before she died, she suffered terribly, with every single breath, because she also had blood clots in her lungs. My mother was a wonderful woman and I miss her terribly. I helped give her the medication in her last months because her health deteriorated to the point that she got confused and began to take her medication improperly. So many old people take lots of medications because their heart starts to fail them, as do their eyes. Many have arthritis and just want to be able to walk and move without extreme pain. Many have diabetes. Some have cancer. All are human beings, with the desire to be treated with respect and dignity. All are the same individuals they were when they were young - only they are trapped in an old, aging body that many times is falling apart. Heck - I'm 45 and my own body is having issues at times (my eyesight is worse and I have less energy than I used to and I can't eat the same foods I used to be able to eat).

I know you meant this as a joke, and I can appreciate a good joke the same as anyone. I would just like to caution you to be thoughtful of the older readers on these forums as well as to their children and grandchildren, who are also on these forums. Many people enjoy poking fun at old people, and I find that quite sad because these are somebody's parents or grandparents, and they don't deserve to be made fun of simply because they are old. One day we will all be old as well, if we are so blessed. Many elderly people have to take medications in order to live any kind of quality of life. Ecstasy would have killed my mother much quicker. While you may think it could have perked her up a bit, to hasten her death by mixing her medications with such a drug would have been horrible. The same would hold true for any person taking any medication - young or old. One should never mix prescription drugs with ecstacy or any other illicit drug like that. Please rethink posting questions like this in the future. It is in bad taste. Thanks.

You are much mistook.
We decrepit ancients are in ecstasy every time we take a breath and it isn't our last one!
Inside our well trenched and cratered bodies we are doing the last fandango with what motor neurons are still available to us.
You youngsters have a lot to learn. Look into our eyes me laddy. They are not milky for nothing you know!

Yeah, and give them heart attacks. That stuff is really bad for your heart, and heart disease is the number one killer. I'll take my old people mellow, and alive (I happen to love my parents).
