The only way a player can get MORE time is if the time restraint is set with an increment! Say you are paying a 15 minutes game. Each player has only 15 minutes and there is no way to get any more time. But you, or your opponent, may select an increment when you set the timer. If you are paying a15/5 game, you get a 5-second increment added to your clock every time you move. A 15/15 game would add a 15-second increment added to your clock every time you move. And so forth. The increment (or none) is selected when the timer is set up.
