A woman of 60ish I know has answered a lot of these questions for me. She kept a long, happy marriage by keeping her man happy...she listened to him, respected him, criticized little, kept sexually available, kept a great house, raised good kids...in turn, he loved her ,cherished her, worked hard to provide for her and the family...there was mutual admiration and respect. When the children left for college, she took up sculpting, pottery, oil painting and filled her house with art, she joined bookclubs and other groups and she and her husband traveled together. She continued her education by reading , writing, looking into spiritual studies. She has stayed reasonably fit and looks good for an 'older' lady. Being invisible, at first, was difficult, but she says, it's a relief to not be in the competiton thing with other women.

As I enter my 40's, I would like to know how these women coped with children leaving the house, menopause and sexual feelings after age 60, being widowed or divorcing later in life, what they did to prepare for retirement, how they feel about their health, do they miss being able to do something that they can't do now, how do they fill their time, do they have any regrets, what would they do differently, would they choose to be younger again and if so, what age, how do they feel about their looks now, do they feel invisible or unneeded now - so many questions I'd like to know the answers to.

I work in assisted living with these women. They do not respect homo's,they say there done with men and did there time with the one they had but don't want to start with a new one at there age. There extremely kind and caring and interested in us and our lives. There very grateful and appreciate any help they get. Some still talk dirty not many. They still think young men are hot even the ones young women don't want. There not shy about asking you to do things for them at times because they feel young people like me taking care of them owe it to them.
