It obvious when one of you comes in as the only ones on level 2 or higher and gives everyone a thumbs down that doesn't share your prudish viewpoint.

Many of the Lib concepts are wrong for clear reasons. One poster responds with those reasons, there is no need for 12 more posters to explain that minimum wage, for example, is a price floor, that there aren't people out there making $5.25/hour who would but for the minimum wage be making $3/hour, though there may be people who would be making $3/hour who can't get hired because the minimum is $5.25. That doesn't need to be explained more than once. So one of us explains it and then the rest give the explanation a thumbs-up.

It's really no different than any other YA section - somebody asked in the music section "what's that 1970s band with the flute player who jumped around on stage" and 2-3 people at the same time answered "Jethro Tull" - - and their answers were given thumbs up - - - - I'm sure 200 people saw the question and knew the answer, but they recognized that there was no reason for them to write "Jethro Tull" 200 times.

You would have said the opposite a few months ago with the old format. The problem is that the extremes of conservatives and liberals dominate with their out of touch hateful answers. But I have noticed a trend and its based on how you ask your questions. If your questions are asked in biased manner then you will tend to draw this crowd. You'll never escape the jerks from either side.

Gosh first time i've been in this section, so i've never seen it personally, but i really don't want to act like those political ppl calling names and acting like children on a playground. That's hateful, i can't stand it.....but....i guess when ppl's viewpoints are so different, someone will get offended and think it's hateful even if it was said in an innocent way, then again you have some hateful ppl out here, and also sarcastic ppl....soo yeah ^_^

The problem with both sides is that they are extremes. So many have picked a side and now it is a fight to the death. This is very unhealthy for political debate. And I fault our political and media leaders for much of this. We are more interested in what Rosie O' Donnell did than focusing on political issues and debating them. It is smoke and mirrors and the spreading of hatred. Moderates have to rule the day. The problem is that moderates that are Republican are now called Conservatives and moderates that are Democrat are called Liberal. What it really is is framing the other side as the evil tribe and our tribe as the righteous one. Both are wrong.

Hey, I get thumbs down and violation notices ALL the time. It's not just limitted to conservatives either! PLENTY of liberals have reported my answers because they don't agree with my views. I've even received hatefull messages calling me "neocon" and "chickenhawk lover" and many many more even though I am not a republican or a conservative. If you want to label me, I am a libertarian. But apparently the only colors people seem to see in here are RED and BLUE. Go figure.

If you want to see hateful questions, look at the libeal kooks who can only spout off the anti war talking points. I get more than a thumbs down from the libbies on this site. What are you complaining about.

Get used to it. Conservative people usually have very narrow-minded viewpoints. It seems they have a hard time dealing with the fact that sometimes taking a step back and listening to someone else's perspective can actually be beneficial.

That's one of the differences between a Democrat and a Republican

Many Republicans hate everyone and everything that is not a WASP and are just like them!

I noticed lately they have taken to complaining about everything a Democrat politician does, bit defend their own who did much worse! It is OK for them, but not for us!

I actually heard a Republican senator make a remark that now "we have to control spending"! Where has he been when Bush was running up 3 1/2 TRILLION in debt! I didn't hear him complain about that!

It comes from Liberals too, so do not assume that Liberals are oh so generous. Besides, conservatives have just as much right to be on here as liberals do, so get over it.

All their hatred is indicative of the SELF hatred they feel for their way of life.
Think about - there you are-able to see Paradise yet being too fearful to bring about the changes to make yourself a truly happy and satisfied adult - living in a world of intelligence, love and pleasure.
But - taking that first step and declaring to the world - " I WANT TO BE A LIBERAL" is just too much for most of them as it would entail admitting that up to that point there life has been primitive and bare - full of fear and hatred for all things.
Salvation is possible though for them -- get up the courage righties and take your first step to wholeness....................
