Look in the mirror and ask yourself this question again. There is nothing wrong having a generous heart or personality trait.Take a paper and write on it a budget for lending and if you get to that point, you stop! Avoid if possible going to places you are most likely to be asked for a loan. Make your interest rate or payback very high, and if they still ask for the loan, you know they have no intentions to repay, just tell them hey, when you repay me back for the other loans, then maybe we can talk. Tell them you placed your cash in cd in the bank and can't touch it for 3 years for example, these are ways..

Some may be taking advantage of your generous nature to continue to borrow without paying you back. If you are truly disgruntled with the whole process, I'd say the next time someone asks, just honestly respond that you're "tapped out" right now, and can't accomodate them, and in fact you could gently remind them of any past due amounts. That should be a good test of wether they are valid, altlhough forgetful, friends, or just people using you as a bank.

I believe you should stop lending money to your friends. A true friend would not ask unless it was a very desperate situation.
It's good to not let other people know if you have much extra money. Your money is a private matter. The fact that friends continue to borrow and have to be reminded to pay you back makes me think they aren't very good friends.
There is an old saying that people are as nice as you let them be.
If you don't lend them money, they should stop asking, seeing that you will not lend them money anyway.

No offense but you should have realized this in the first time itself...If they didn't return it if you told them to, then what makes you think they will later...
Stop lending them money and tell them that you will not lend them money until they pay back your money. If they don't listen...too bad. They will have to go seek someone else.
You may lose these friends but you will know that they weren't worth being your friends. You will soon find new set of people later in life who meet your standards.

No. You are not wrong. Nor are they using you. You stop money lending. Start giving Alms or a Monery for Charity Foundation with your money. ayou will not have to worry that friends do not return money. They would think twice to take money from Charity.

I'd say stop lending friends money. People tend not to feel the urgency to pay friends back and you might lose some friendships because of it.

You can lend money to help others. But don't demand for interest.

if you want to help in genuine cases then make up your mind that the money you have given to your friends will not be given back.
