Seeing a misogynist is actually a woman-hater and a misanthropist hates all human-kind (or mankind), I would guess that the opposite of man-hater is a loving, cuddly girl friend!

A man hater or hater of man kind isn't a misogynist, the word for that is misanthrope. A misogynist is a man who hates women kind, and the opposite for that word might possibly be Lothario or simply put, ladies man.

"Misogyny" (or ""misogynist") is NOT in fact an interchangeable term; it is gender-specific and means "woman hating" (hater), just as it's male equivalent, "misandry" (or "misandrist") means "man hating" (hater).
I find it ironic that the only point of contention is the interchangability of a female-specific term; a purely misogynistic contention proving that woman-hating is so deeply entrenched in the collective male subconscience that it seeks to deprive women of even the very word that specifically defines & acknowledges mankind's historical (& evidently ongoing) hatred & subjugation of women.
Even the so-called "Best Answer" to this question goes on to add the following:
"misanthrope" means hater of ALL people (mankind)"
Brutal!
What's wrong with "human"kind?? Too "philanthropic"? Even "philanthropic" doesn't mean philanthropic anymore! Yet there isn't any debate about the meaning & exclusivity of "misandrist"! Probably because most people have never even heard of it!
