Please use a bit of common sense. If the item is cordless where is it going to get it's power from (Maybe this should be under the religious section). Yes it must have batteries. AA battery charges and rechargeable batteries are not very expensive and what I do it to keep a couple plugged in all the time with batteries in them so when the ones in my cordless mouse run out I just swap them over. I have other equipment that uses AA as well.I do have a cordless key board but I don't use it as I don't see the point. You don't move the key board about like you do the mouse so the cord can be tucked out of the way.

If something electrical is 'cordless', it has to get power from inside. Cordless keyboards and mice are cordless because they use radio like blutooth to send the data to your computer. The only way you can put the power source in is to use a battery of some kind. My wireless mouse uses 2 AAA batteries.
If you do not want to keep buying batteries, you will have to get rechargeable ones with a charger. Buy two sets for the keyboard, and two sets for the mouse. Then you will always have standby batteries as the set in use goes flat. No other way, I'm afraid. Good luck, hope this helps.(GL HTH!)

All cordless devices require some sort of batteries. Some work with regular AA or AAA batteries, others have integrated rechargeable ones. Power is required to send and receive signals to and from the receiver.
Cordless devices have very low power consumption and should be able to operate with the same set of batteries for months. The only disadvantage is that batteries make cordless mice heavier then the wired ones.

I wish I'd never bought a cordless keyboard and mouse. It was all right until the rechargeable battery died and I tried to get a new one. They can only be obtained from the manufacturer and it took a really long time to obtain the battery. In the meantime, I had to use AA batteries and they didn't last very long at all.

Get a good model such as Microsoft or Belkin as the cheap ones stop working after a few weeks, some of the keys will not actuate. Get some rechargeable batteries for the mouse as they are battery eaters, alternately get a rechargeable mouse with a charging cradle that doubles as the transceiver. It should cost about £25 - £50.

I use a LOGITECH LX7 cordless optical mouse, and the batteries (non rechargable) have been in there well over 7 months now, and there is no sign of them dying yet, it has a power saving feature, so i guess the keyboard would be the same too.......here is the link for the USA site, but they are available in the UK too, just change to the UK version if you need to.......I would highly recommend logitech !

you need bluetooth on your computer if it doesnt, try the usb keyboard and mouse the batteries are supposed to be in the keyboard or mouse. hope this helps remember, Bluetooth, an industrial specification for wireless personal area networks (PANs). Bluetooth provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices such as mobile phones, laptops, PCs, printers, digital cameras, and video game consoles over a secure, globally unlicensed short-range radio frequency. The Bluetooth specifications are developed and licensed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group.

All of them are going to require batteries. It's possible, I suppose, that you may be able to find one that you can charge when not in use, but then, that really isn't cordless, is it?

They all need some power source, so if you want wireless you must use batteries - unless there is some form of solar power. I use wireless and the batteries seem to last for several months.
