according to that article there are over 200 planets and a lot of them surround 2 or more suns. how amazing is that? do you think we will ever be able to travel that far?

What's even more amazing is: that's only the beginning. The European Space Agency just launched (earlier his year) a new space telescope designed to detect smaller planets (all the ones detected so far are very large). And new systems being developed will be able to find planets as small as Earth or Mars as far away as 23 light years!

Going there is another matter. Based on our current understanding of physics, any conceivable spacecraft would be limited to the speed of light. Eventually we'll be able to build interstellar spacecraft--if we're willing to spend decades--or even centuries--making the trip. Unless, of course, we eventually find a way around the "light barrier."

We can only detect very large planets right now and none look like favorable places to live. There are some larger than Jupiter closer to their suns than Mercury. Trvelling that far will be an enormous feat that we're not even close to being able to do.

So they tell us.

Remember, if they can't decide IF or IF NOT PLUTO is a planet in our own system, can we REALLY TRUST what they think about something light years away!
