Its rubbish, the local pub will never be the same again.
I can understand in Resaurants and places like that. But for it to be banned in all pubs is ridiculous. I bet they will soon lift the ban when they realise less people are visiting the pubs and the taxes get low.

I think bars/pubs,bowling alleys and private clubs should have been left out. Non smokers dont go to the bars enough to make up for the loss of revenue. My city has had a smoking ban for almost three months and many bars are laying off employees and not booking bands because of loss of revenue. I have no problem with the ban for other places like restaraunts and such. I am a smoker and did not smoke when I went out to eat before the ban. I respected their rights and then they stomped on mine in a place they never go.

As an ex smoker(25 +years)who sits with smokers in pubs and working men's clubs I'll be pleased when the ban comes in,I don't think the smokers will stop using the places,they like a beer too much!The only problem will be loads of cigarette ends outside the entrance doors.

Right now, I feel nothing. Within next 15 years, it will change.
No smoke in restaurants and bars killing tasteful food;
No invisible smoke (89%) neither visible from cigar will go to my lungs and kill healthy cells, perhaps trigering cancer within my several hours during university period;
Do not fell terrible smell from my clothes and imaging how should be my nose and thoath after yesterday evenning.
I can tell. Nex years, Everything will be more colorful.

In pubs, outraged. As a nation, we are turning into a bunch of old women. They should at least have smoking and non smoking pubs. The non smoking pubs could be called, " The Intolerance Inn". They would be all sipping shandies and there would be no laughter.

We've had it in Scotland for a year and its been totally fine. I'm a smoker myself so instead of going to the pub i invite all my mates round to my place plenty of booze and can smoke as much and whereever i like. If i do go out i just go outside every 15 mins not that big a deal even survived the winter as well so its not all bad.

Just another Nanny State taking more of our rights away in the name of Gov..
Strange the freedom of choice folks just keep taking our rights away 1 by 1 and say they are freedom of choice, but its only what rights they choose
Political Correctness is destroying the USA

I think it's great.
No longer will i have to endure passive smoking when i go to a bar
No longer will i have to come home smelling of other peoples smoke.
There will be those that complain of the possible "Tax Increases"
However id much rather that, than watch more people die of unnecessary diseases.
I watched my gran die a slow painful death due to smoking
Id quite like it if no one else had to witness what i did due to this dirty habit.
