I would have to say Tom Hanks or Robert De Niro for the actor. But the best actress of all time is Marilyn Monroe. She could act in anything - comedy, musical, drama. She's a legend.

I would have to say Tom Hanks as every performance that he performs you are either laughing or crying or sometimes even both, Tom Hanks films generally make you feel good, Tom can carry off serious roles (the green mile, Apollo 13), comedy roles (big), and hard roles (Forest gump), Just a whole bunch.
Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) was a two time winner awarded Best Supporting Actress and Breakthrough Performance of the Year.

Gotta be Kevin Spacey.. he is an awesome actor who is totally underrated. American beauty and usual suspects are classics.
Actress I would say Sandra Bullock who has made some good entertaining films both as an actress and lately as a director.

I would have to say the best actor is Tom Hanks, at least for this generation. And Helen Mirren for best actress, no question.

Al Pacino - Scarface.
Uma Thurman - Kill Bill 1&2.
The amount of effort and character building put in before these movies were shot is astounding.
