I hate him. He does not know how to sing . . . I think he is gay. He pirms his hair and . . . . uh! He needs to get voted off. I don't think he should even be on American Idol! Why do so many people like him?!?!?!?

Hey - watch it with that "gay" crap. I'm so sick of seeing that word used as a negative adjective.
Yep, he sucks. His singing sucks, and he's too timid. He's just too young. It's like he wants to just go out and play, not do all this work to be a star. Hopefully this experience won't screw him up too much - he's only 17.
Tween girls like him because he has a nice smile, is sweet, shy, unique and - most imporantly - non-threatening. They vote in huge numbers, so I think he'll be on American Idol for a while, unfortunately.

I think that he sucks as a singer and a preformer, but not as a person and human being. The last couple of preformances it seems to me that he just doesn't even care about being up there on stage. He does not deserve to be in the top 10, that's for sure. I think that at this point in time the judges realize that it doesn't matter what they say about him, because the fans will just keep voting for him.
I hope that he gets voted off very soon, as to give the people who really deserve to be up there the chance to. He's a joke of an American Idol contestent. I think that he's the contestent that will eventually bring the show down.

I don't know the guy personally so I can't say I hate him since he has done nothing wrong to me.
I don't know if he is gay because I have never seen him in the bedroom or kiss another guy and I'm not sure why that would make a difference if he did.
But what I do know is this:
- He's 17 years old.
- 3 Judges (Simon, Paula and Randy) and the producers of the show obviously felt he was good enough out of all those thousands of people to be put on television.
- He's 17 years old.
- I can NOT sing better than he can
And that's what I know.
He is a 17 year old boy trying to make it by singing and couch-potato people who probably couldn't hold a note as long as Sanjiay could are trying to tell this kid that he doesn't deserve a kick at the can.
But he does and here's why:

I don't know about you but I wouldn't want people threatening me and pressuring me to STOP my dream from coming true. Would you?
There are people who are on a hunger strike because he is not voted off? How sane is that?!
So let's give him a break and see how far along he can ride this pony.

So many people like him because he is likeable, but I agree - he CAN'T sing anywhere near as well as some of the other contestants - I know - I CAN sing. Also, there is a website called "Vote for the worst" that seems to be having an effect, so they might have to change their voting policy because Sanjay could win based on his popularity, and not his TALENT, or lack thereof.
BTW: I could care less about American Idol - its an insult to all the musicians who had to spent years in clubs slogging it out to get where they are today. I only see the show in bits and pieces, and as far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't mind seeing the show in the "cancelled" column.

Yes I hate him too. But people like Howard Stern are trying to get everyone to vote to keep him on the show stating that American Idol is "racist"

american idol sucks i dont even watch it anymore because its the same thing year after year after year. Like the winners of American Idol aren't even big, except Kelly Clarkson. Now like every country has american idol like canada austarlia and so many others. Tho the first two years were awesome

he's whatever, I've stopped watching the show b/c its just not good anymore. You have those kids who in high school voted the ugly fat kids on homecoming court just to get a good laugh, thats all they are doing here. They have that site, votefortheworst.com its a real site and its rediculous. I am pretty sure no one likes him besides his friends and family. Its really bad that a good show has come to this and they aren't doing anything about it.
So I have decided to stop watching until he is gone!

in case you haven't heard Howard Stern and the web-site votefortheworst.com have launched a campaign to keep this retard on the show, they want to be the ones that get the show of the air by keeping the worst contestant in the contest, Simon Cowell has said that he will walk off the show if he is made the winner.

I hear you. I totally agree. I have no clue why people like him. If America keeps on voting the way they have he is going to win the whole thing. It doesn't even seem like a singing competition any more. It seems like a likability contest.

Hi, The only way Sanjaya is going to leave is if Howard Stern stops his campaign to keep him on the show. We should be boycotting his show and writing to tell him we are boycotting. Write or phone his advertisers and tell them you will boycott their products if Howard continues to sabotage American Idol. Remember, numbers speak.
