This is just another example of the difference between British English and American English. In the U.S., "spelled" is preferred. Across the water, I think "spelt" may be the preferred spelling, or at least equal to the first. Both are acceptable in standard English. Oh, and BTW, spelt is also a kind of flour.

"Spelt" is not a an American word, here it is "spelled." I do not know if it is an actual English word. There are some differences between American English and British English, so as I said it could be correct where you live. You should check a local dictionary to find out if it is listed.
