Yes. It's called meditation.

it would depend upon your definition of nothing. If you mean that you will make your mid go blank and have absolutely nothing on it....not it is not possible. The reason is that our minds are always working at some level. Consider dreams.

When you meditate your mind is concentrating on the subject at hand.....relaxation. Sure it is not trying to solve that latest crossword puzzle or searching it's memory for something to work on but it is working....it is always working.

I am convinced it is impossible to make your brain go completely blank. Only one thing will do that. Death.

I am not sure, sometimes I think yes, yet things creep into your mind. I have a farm, I sit and watch things grow, seemingly thinking of nothing, yet the mind is always wandering and I find myself off on a tangent.

Perhaps the question is better put, are you comfortable enough with yourself that you can sit and let your mind go.

Yes. From my personal experiences(and experiments) it can be possible. Try staring at the subject but not actually looking at it, in the end your are so busy doing that, that you don't even think. You just, kinda do it without any reason.

Yes its so simple. None of the Yoga or meditation stuff that takes practice and concentration.
You think of nothing when:
1. you sleep and not have dreams
2. You pass out stone cold or pissed drunk
3. You faint
4. You die

Yes, that is the primary focus of yoga. To clear the mind of all thoughts. It takes time, practice and dicipline, but it can be done. Ask the Yogis who can do amazing things with their bodies simply because they have the ability to calm and relax thier minds. It's really very amazing and very popular for stress relief and to help those in chronic pain and those that are very ill.

I don't know, but I think I've been close some times. Like I think of the most inconsequential and stupid things. Maybe it's like worry too. Most of the time it comes to nothing.

Of course. You just lie down and close your eyes and drift away...meditation is one of the best ways of thinking about nothing.

I must not be able to meditate.

I fully believe it is impossible to completely empty one's mind of random thoughts.

Our brains are wired on electricity, racing through the neural network upstairs, and one cannot control electrical impulses.

I think meditation is a wonderful tool to center yourself, but I don't think it really empties your mind.

Yes, through meditation. It takes awhile to get used to doing it, and become adept at it, but it is possible, and very peaceful. Try it. :-)
Best wishes

Yes watch t.v. That's why they call it the boob tube. People who watch a lot of t.v. don't know anything so they don't think of anything when they watch it. It's sad because they don't know it either. Whenever I turn on the T.V. I fall asleep so I don't really watch it. And I'm glad of it I have a life.
