My best three cricketers would be Ricky Ponting, No.1 for his prolific batting thus far in the Cup and his captaincy for finishing the match against Bangladesh in the given overs and not dragging it over to the next day; Sanath Jayasuriya(No.2) for his silken touch and big hitting in the match against West Indies, reminding us of the person who invented the big hitting tactics in the first 15 overs of an ODI along with Romesh Kaluwitharana and Glenn McGrath(No.3) for his intelligent bowling and breaking a record even in his last tournament of ODI

In my opinion, the three best players of the current world cup are
1) Lasith Malinga = unplayable action and fighting spirit(4 wickets from 4 balls against SA nearly won a lost match)
2) Mathhew Hayden = seems to have regained his big bully batting form and is currently lording over the rest
3) NJ OBrien = Irish battler. Has been leading his country's charge spiritedly. Their best batsman - takes the fight to the enemy
