I observed hygiene, but why is it that from time to time my pubic hair gets itchy? In fact, there's an infection fron my scratching it. No, I'm not into sex with any men. I noticed a small pimple-like in my pubic hair area.

A pimple is not a symptom of crabs. Seeing itty-bitty bugs crawling on you is.
Look really close. (You can get this from sharing a bed or clothing with someone who has it).

A pimple in your pubic hair is either an infected hair follicle (folliculitis) or just that -- a pimple. Herpes, in the early stage, could also look like a pimple.
The biggest cause of folliculitis is shaving, so don't do that. You can still get it, even if you don't shave. Try a warm washcloth 4 times a day. If it gets worse go see your health care provider; sometimes this needs antibiotics.

Shaving also causes itching and irritation to the skin. So if you are shaving, you may want to stop for a while.

It could also be irritation from soap, clothing, or detergents you use to wash your clothes. Have you used any new laundry soap, or body wash? Try double-rinsing your underwear and make sure it's cotton.

Sometimes yeast grows on the outside, mostly in folds of skin. There will be redness, and it itches a lot.

If it's not better soon, make an appointment.

Sometimes this is caused by shaving. When the hair starts to grow back it can become quite itchy. If the hair is in the process of growing just rub some hand lotion on the area as you are getting dressed in the morning. Anything other than that, you may need to see a doctor.

Your itching could be caused by ingrown hairs, especially if you shave. If it continues to be a problem, I would recommend talking to your doctor. He or she could prescribe something to aleviate the itching or to take care of the cause of itching. If you do shave, I would recommend that you discontinue the habit and buy a pair of trimmers to trim the hair short instead of shaving to the skin. Also, if you do shave and prefer to continue doing so, you need to use a clean blade each shaving to prevent bactieria from spreading and causing infection. You may also want to look into waxing, although this is painful intially, the pain eases quickly and you may eventually become desensitized to the pain.

after shaving my bikini line it always gets sore and itches a lot. Since you're not sexually active it shouldn't be crabs (pubic lice). Overall it's just like anything else, you just get itchy!

Just because we are female doesn't mean that our areas don't itch either. males just are more open about itching themselves.
