Mario Party games are basically a big series of board game with mini-games in most of the spaces. Mario Party is pretty good, but like most Gamecube games, it is more fun when playing with multiple people.

If you are buying them used aviod the first. Many of its mini-games are controller killers. They fixed that in Mario Party 2, so any game newer won't tear up your controlers.

With Mario Party 7, they added a bunch of mini-games that can only be played with a microphone control, but the system will skip those if it senses there isn't a mic plugged in.

IT IS MOS. DEF. WORTH BUYING. Mario Party games are probably the greatest games for gamecube (aside from Paper Mario). You might want to consider upgrading to a Nintendo Wii, though, because you can still play gamecube games on it, but you can also buy (for $10.00 a piece) N64 games to play on it, such as: Super Mario 64, Mario Kart, and Zelda.

As said before the fourth and the fifth are by far the best.... but for me at least it gets boring and repetitive after you play it for a while. I was completley bored of it after a week. I wouldn't buy it simply because i wouldn't play after a weeks time.
