Choclove is right, I did not know how to describe the way we pronounce garage, garidge is a better way to describe it.
Thanks

Summerhill... are you having me on? Ireland is an English speaking country. only 10% speak Gaelic Irish, in Gaeltacht areas, mostly in rural southwest and western Ireland.
It does not matter where someone lives. People who speak in a different way has an accent. the converse is true.
How do I know all this? I'm Irish.

Summerhill, there are many versions of English. Australian English, Canadian English, American English, Hiberno-English and so on. Self explanatory really.

I would disagree with your pronunciations of garage in both countries, but another one which comes to mind is lieutenant, which is pronounced "LeffTENant" in the UK, and "LooTENant" in the U.S.

Caribbean. We put the emphasis on the double b, the septics seem to pronounce it with a double r.
