Isolating the terrorists from the rest of humanity as much as possible by physical barriers, sanctions, denying them all necessities of life, while educating the surrounding peoples about the dangers of support in the terrorists while simultaneously teaching them the wealth of knowledge and opportunities available through authentic democracy ( Which, buy the way, the USA has proven NOT to be).

Leave them alone?

Last time I checked France and Germany are leaving them alone, yet they're targets.

I think getting some of these nations built up where the people in them actually have OPPERTUNITY in their lives it will help stop it.

Last time I checked the UAE was pretty advanced and it's not a terrorist hotbed to my knowledged.

When you have poverty stricten countries (because of it's leaders) mixed with a radical belief you get a bad outcome.

The people of these countries have no future. They hold this fantasy about 72 virgins if they die in the name of Allah. Of course they're going to do it.

If they get opperturnity and education and an actual future, it will decrease the amount.

You of course still will have fanatics that hold the views, but you cant fix that.

Nazi germany fell 60-70 years ago, yet there are still nazis.

To answer that, you must determine who the terrorists are and what their motives are.

They are usually people who are convinced they have no other means at their disposal, and who have a contempt for human life.

So enable them to take their life into their own hands, by educating them.
Ensure they don't get isolated enought to develop a content to other humans - not easily done, but involve them in society.

To them we are infidels on their sacred land. As long as we are on their sacred land they hate us and want to expel us from that sacred land. If we leave they will have no reason fo expel us from their sacred land and most will leave us alone.
