Except for helping Iraqi's get out from under the bloody rule of Saddam it sure seems like a waste of lives and money.

It's a mistake that will haunt America for generations and probably more so than even Vietnam. At least Vietnam didn't make America so reviled in the world as this fiasco has. America, whether the conservatives will admit it, has lost all moral integrity, influence and authority. The world may fear you because of your ability to kill, but that isn't respect or friendship. That many in America can't see that, is to their own detriment.

Yes, but the Reagan administration supported Saddam back in the 80's, so it was even more pointless, they've known for years how they have been running that country.

I would say just a waste of money. Thousand upon thousands more die eevry year in the USA for less valid reasons. So really its about the money.

Iraq was a strategic mistake and spelled the end of Republican majorities in the house and senate, at least for now.
