my mom always finds something wrong with my cleaning skills. "You didn't dust that corner..." or "you should have used pine-Sol" or "you didn't clean the cat's litterbox...." even though I know I did! How do I make her understand I can't clean as well as she can?

The next time you clean, make sure you do the absolute best job that you can. Be thorough, and complete. Now you will know that you did your best and if Mom has a problem with it, you can tell her honestly, that you did your best.

Take a look at her complaint, did she have a legitimate gripe, did you goof up or is she just nitpicking?

This will let you know if the problem is with you or your mom. With this knowledge, then you can approach her and have a talk with her and let her know how you feel and you'll have proof and you can give her an example.

My guess, is that your heart isn't into it and you'd rather be doing something else than cleaning, hey, guess what, I'll bet your Mom would rather be doing something else too. Good luck and I hope you get things figured out.

There's a great book called "Cleaning for Dummies". Buy her a copy and ask her to highlight the lessons she didn't teach you when you were a kid. Tell her after that you don't want anymore kibbitzing because it's getting annoying. If she can't teach you things nicely, it's not going to be a good lesson...and nitpicking is never a nice thing to do.

Listen to her because it will make you a better person. My dad did this with me when I as younger. Now I try to do my best at everything because of his lessons. This just goes to prove that Darwin was wrong.

Yikes....I think I'm just like your mom! Remind her just that, that you are not her and then follow everything she complains about with an "ok mom...i'll keep that in mind the next time i clean that..."
Her obsessions are not your problem...try to not let it bother you, if you can.

I would have to say that if she does not like the way that you clean then tell her to do it herself..

Use a little "reverse psychology" and ask her to show you how she wants you to do it!!!

Tell her to show you how she wants it done. That's ridiculous.
