I have an invention and I would like to get it started but I need to get a patent on it in case it takes me a while to get it going and I just dont trust alot of people due to bad past experiences with my invention already. Can someone please help!!

It is possible to draft up your own Patent Application. There are many books out there to help you do just that such as "Patent It Yourself" by David Pressman. Another option is to get a low-cost Provisional Patent from the US Patent Office. It costs $100 and lets you claim Patent Pending for 12 months.

If you are too paranoid about your invention you are going to have a tough time. Use Confidentiality Agreements with everyone and always research companies before doing business with them.
