Eleven fools are playing and eleven thousand fools are watching.B.Shah' s saying about his own country's discovery or invention, what ever we may call.This sudden spurt in your mind is the way in which the Indians approached the game in the recent World Cup.Today only I saw the Groups.Only the Indians and the pakistanis were bundled out the very begining stage itself.If they have entered in the super 8 we would have the oppurtunity of viewing some more matches.And in fine Cricket has got nothing to do with our daily life.There are so many other things ,which is not all necessary to our country, but everything is existing.There are so many things to be banned , like that this game should also be banned , there is poverty, population explosion employment crises ,theft, burglery, eve teasing,vulgarity 24 hrs non stop Tv programme nad non-stop 24 hrs Fm programm.When this all going to be stopped are banned, then the Indian culture will change or else it will go to dogs.

I am answering this from an Indian point of view. For us it is religion. It unites all Indians, irrespective of their status, caste, creed, religion, language or state. It is more than a sport and it is just NOT a game. Winning and loosing DOES matter, especially if it is a tournament like World Cup or India is playing against Pakistan. Loosing pathetically is not at all accepted. We want India to win. If not, at least loose gracefully. We love our Cricketers like any thing and they should understand before wearing an Indian Cap that they are accountable for defeat. There is no other sport India follows, but Cricket and only Cricket. We Indians hide our disappointment behind India's win in cricket about problems we have in India such as corrupt politicians, wrong policies, mismanagement everywhere etc. Cricket is just not a game in India, it is a religion. If anything which binds all Indians together, it is a CRICKET!

Cricket is just a game like any other. But what makes it so special for people including me, is the glorious uncertainties of the game. While the one day game is masala cricket, the 20-20 version is hara-kiri. But the best game of cricket is the 5 day version, where the factor of glorious uncertainities of the game come into play. It tests the skill of each player, skill-wise, patience-wise, temparament-wise and what not. It is interesting to watch the longer version; but wait a minute! you should know some basics to follow this version closely.

While I am a cricket fan and follow the game of cricket than any other sport, I am not much crazy about cricket.

well cricket is a part of my life for almost 2 hrs daily from 4:30 - 6:30 in the evening .....
so 2 hrs daily and approx
15 hrs a week ( taking erors into account)
= 60 hrs a month
=720 hrs an year
if u think an avg indians life time is 60 yrs
cricket has been 43200 hrs of my life which approx equals....1800 days which is further equal to 60 months and that is 5 yrs./.... so cricket is almost 5 yrs of my life ..... and 5/60 th part of my life

the cricket is a time passer in cricket so many parts the golf and hockey includes the cricket model and the playing cricket is a man very strongly so that the cricket is a very active play so that the world watching

I can't say that it is just a game to me or for that matter most of us.Bcoz then I wouldnt have felt so bad when India crashed out.Or when Indian Cricket is going from bad to worse thanks to the Bunch of Duffers Who Control Cricket in India.And evryone felt sorry for Bob Woolmer too.So if u're fom the subcontinent(exclude Sri Lanka),I am sure it is a quintessential part of ur life ,no matter how much u deny it.

Top turnover contributed by Football aka Soccer then followers Tennis, Horse racing, Golf, Baseball, Rugby. Cricket is very must got rise in last few years. In 2003 it was at 15 th rank. Now takes over many kinds of Motor sports, Sea sports and Hockey, and boxing.

It depends on your passion for cricket. If you are more passionate bout cricket then you'll prefer to be a cricketer. If not feeling so much passion about cricket then it's a good game to play to keep your body and mind fit.
