Democrats are starting the process of the old, from the 60's and 70's, idea of passing an amendment to the constitution for seeking equal rights for women. Whay say you?

NO... I don't think we need an AMENDMENT to add additional "law" to what is already included in the Constitution.

The XIVth Amendment states clearly enough that citizens rights shall not be abridged... and the XIXth corrected the out-dated issue of suffrage.

ALL that the Boxer/Kennedy law does is codify what's already codified... AND introduce a whole new level of bureaucracy and government jobs... at GREAT cost.

It's a stupid 1970's-feel good idea. It is not needed at all. Maybe those politicians should worry about how to preserve jobs for the average american as opposed to legislation that is purely symbolic. It's apparent that they prefer symbolism over substance.

The ERA in itself is fine with most people.

BUT--the ERA would also give the Constitional right to abortion...that needs to be dropped.

Sure, absolutely.

But if you support this, then you should oppose any preferential treatment women might receive in hiring, especially from any federal, state or local government.
