...bristle and cry foul when Rosie questions the circumstances and validity of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's confession to practically every terrorist act of the last 30 years?

Because Ann Coulter says what they want to believe is true. The people who respond the way you describe are mean-spirited and self-loathing, and in order to try to make themselves feel better, they have to try to make everyone else feel as bad as they do.

I don't agree with Rosie and her beliefs, but it is her absolute right to say whatever she want, in any forum she wants.

I think it comes down to the fact that people who are on 'our side' never seem as offensive in their outrageous commentary as people on the 'other side'. I'm sure that Ann Coulter causes conservatives to wince from time to time, but mostly, they support her views. But the outrageous commentary from Rosie offends them, as she represents beliefs they just cannot agree with. Its human nature.

The other difference, from my viewpoint, is that Rosie is NOT a political commentator - and The View is not designed to be a forum for that kind of discussion. If she wants to share those thoughts, I think she would better serve herself and her viewers if she did so on a 'news' program.

There is a tiny group of self serving 9/11 widows whom the left love to parade out to criticize the war effort. Never do we hear from the thousands of other widows of 9/11 who support the war. She pointed that out and she is 100% correct.

John Edwards is a girly-man.

Rosie O'Donnell is not above criticism either.

I know of no one that supports the type of language that Ann Coulter used about Edwards. Rosie and Ann are unimportant in my mind. What either thinks has little based in fact. Rosie merely embarasses herself when she makes inane comments about Khalid, or the British sailors.

Why do liberals generalize?

Didn't hear the Edwards comment, but I'm always leery of the word "implies" - that leaves quite a bit open to interpretation.

I may not agree with Coulter, but I damned sure defend her right to speak.

Why do so many men on the left loathe outspoken, strong women? Not just Ann - even here on answers. I've had it happen to me, repeatedly, and I've seen it happen to other women, too. But you don't see me calling *all* liberals misogynists, now do you?

I haven't heard anyone bristle or cry foul. I'm sure the confession or lack thereof is not the only evidence against this Liberal hero.

His confession is a small part of the whole.

Cons and repugs are crybaby liars by definition.

Edit: Super: Rosie is making statements about facts, whether you agree with them or not. Ann Coulter insults and threatens people. The parallel does not exist.

Because Ann has some good points while Rosie's better looking?

Well, then again, that's not right

Well, I mean even conservatives have to have their serious doubts whether he's behind everything,
I mean, that's just ridiculous.

I think extremists on both sides need to shut their pie-holes.
