It wont be for long as you will soon find out that the fry get big quick! i guess it really does depend what you are feeding them, as my friend's guppy had her fry before mine but mine grew bigger then hers because i feed them first fry food which is a thin powder, then a few weeks later i add very fine flakes and when they are about a month or so i give them blood worm and they love it and get big quick! hope this helps! good luck to your fry i just recently found 15-20 fry some could possibly be swordtails well fingers crossed anyway. =)x

You can continue feeding them the special food for a few more days, but with guppies and other livebearers you can make your own special food by crushing your regular flake food into a fine powder. I would suggest you begin feeding theem the crushed flake within the next few days. Feed them regularly as they are growing and need plenty of food. For maximum growth you need to feed the fry at least 2 times a day and 3 certainly wouldn't hurt. But you also will need to be sure to keep the tank as clean as possible with large, daily water changes.

It all depends on their mouth size. When you see they are able to negotiate finely crushed regular flake food, you could feed all your fish in this way until they're ready for regular, non-crushed flakes.BEWARE OVERFEEDING! The little tykes only need to be fed thrice in the space of two days and some say even this is too much!
Another thing. Make sure you have plenty of plant cover in your main aquarium (before introducing them to your main aquarium). If you have the fry and your adults in the same tank, like so many folks do (those guppies breed like rabbits!) get lots of Ricciaceae (Crystalwort) for the substrate, even Hornwort and Elodea for the little ones to hide when they surface.

Guppy fry can be fed on powdered flake food from day one.
Just rub the flake to a dust between your fingers to make it as fine as possible. Buying expensive fry food is unnecessary.
