The local council should be able to help.Does anybody farm the field or keep livestock in it. Ask anybody who is working there who is responsible for the farming. It may be a tenant farmer and not the owner but he should be able to point you in the right direction. It may be let by an agency who would probably know the name and address of the owner in order to pass the rent etc. on..

The Land Registry will only have online records if the land was sold (changed ownership) after 2000.
Try your local council.

Call your local Tax Assessor's office. Ask for the Real Estate dept. They have records of all deeds. It is a matter of public record. They may be able to tell you over the phone, or you may have to search in person. Some counties even have the information available online. Good luck!

Go to the courthouse. In my area all this information is on the website so I don't even have to leave the house.

Definitely available at your county courthouse--both at the tax assessor's office and at the deed registration office. Some counties have title records available online.
