Question about medieval clothing?
Were there different types of clothing of clothing appropriate for different occasions? If so, give examples.

Clothing in those days was a status symbol...not like today where you dress like what you WANT to be.. you dressed appropriately. From what you were wearing one could determine what your profession was.

Think today, what does a baker, chimney-sweep or a butler look like? Well in those days almost every profession was that recognizable.

Also color was very important. Some were exclusively for royalty, some for the church. 'common folk' were not supposed to wear any distinct color..nor could they afford it.
