I asked a question about the mucus plug before and one of the answers said that if it's clear it could be an infection but i have been to the Dr plenty times since then.
I'm 39 weeks and dialated 2cm and 50% efaced, when i went to the bathroom just now there was a big clear clump on the paper almost like a gel substance. Could this be the mucus plug or part of it? I haven't really had any conctractions in the last few days and was just at the Dr yesterday for my check up and everything was still the same as last week.

Yes, sometimes the plug comes out in a clump and is thick like gel.

The usual pregnancy discharge is not clear but yellow or whitish.

So this could be your mucus plug especially since you are so far along.

sounds like it. doesnt mean you will feel anything, just means you are dilating more. walk lots, once you hit 4 cm theres no stopping it, your almost there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! relax and prepare for labor, its the closest thing to going to war.
