STOP HAVING SEX! That is the best birth control ever. Since that is not an option for any normal person I would say anal. Lots and lots of anal.

If married couples have good reasons to avoid pregnancy, I think the best method is Natural Family Planning which involves periodice abstinence during the fertile times.
Why do I believe it's the best method? Several reasons:
1. In a spirit of equality and oneness, both man and woman participate in the method so one person is not burdened with taking pills or having an IUD inserted....or having to wear condoms, etc.
2. Natural Family Planning has NO side effects. No other birth control method can claim that. NFP is therefore the best for women's health
3. Because you closely follow your fertility NFP can have some other benefits like alerting women early on when problems arise with their reproductive health
4. With NFP there is no risk of early abortions like with the pill and other hormonal birth control methods
5. With NFP there is no physical barrier (like a condom) between the man and woman.
6. NFP is cheap. All you need is a thermometer and some charts. About $12 buys it all.
There are lots of other good reasons but too numerous to list here. more info at www.ccli.org

You can get Implanon, an implant that releases hormones under your skin for three years, and is 100% effective as contraception as you don't have to remember to take a pill every day. Some people I know who've had this implented have stopped having periods, and they think that's great.
However, there might be some negative side effects, such as irregular periods, which could make Implanon a bit of a pain. Apparently, this happens in about 1 in 10 implants, though, so, on the whole, it's a pretty good thing to try.

I decided to use Mirena after I gave birth to our 4th and last baby. I will admit, my last 3 months with it have been horrible but I was told it would be until my body/hormones regulate. Most of my friends have it and love it. Its too hard to remember to take a pill everyday while caring for 4 children. Congrats and good luck!

Mirena is a good birth control. I have 3 kids and I have been using it for a year and a half now. Ask your doctor about it.

You could use the condom, it's the best one, because you don't need to consult the doctor, few women have allergy to latex.
If you don't feel comfortable with the condom you could use the birth control pill, it gives more than 90% if right used, but you have to consult with the doctor for suitable ones.
If you don't plan to have more children you could use long term methods, but again you have to check them with the doctor. Because he knows better.

If you both are 110% sure that you agree not to have any more children, maybe he should start thinking about getting a vasectomy. If thats not for him the best is probably just the pill condom combo.

My wife has tried the pill, injections, the patch, and has found the nuvaring to be the best.
Edit: How did I get a thumbs down for this? Sheesh... I just relayed my wife's experiences - she had bad reactions to all the other ones, nuvaring is easy and has had no side effects for her...

Please consult your Gynecologist who will be able to advise you much better than we can. What works for one person will not work for another and you need to have a good examination and listen carefully to your options and make your choice according to what your Dr wishes to prescribe for that lovely individual you.
