I remember my Grandad telling me about a boat he served on in the Navy, I don't know much except that it was a smallish boat called the Reward and he served in the early 50's.

Does anyone know what happened to her, or did anyone else serve on her? Im having real trouble finding out anything about it. If you know anything about it id be grateful

HMS Reward was built in Oct, 31 1944 and was a Fleet Tug of the Bustler Class of seven ships. The other being Bustler, Growler, Mediator, Samsonia, Turmoil and Warden.
They were all built by Henry Robb Ltd. They displaced 1800 tons, 1100 gross. They were 205 feet long. Although they were tugs they were armed as follows -: 1- 3inch Anti Aircraft gun, 1- pom pom anti aircraft gun, 2- 20 mm Aircraft gun, and 4 Lewis machine guns.
The ship was powered by 2 sets of Polar Diesels, giving 4000 bhp which gave the ship a speed of about 15 knots. It carried a crew of 42 men.
