The major sports in Rome were the bloody gladiatorial games where men fought each other with various weapons, often to the death, and chariot racing for which the Romans built large stadia.

War games, until one dies. Chariot race, fighting with a tiger or commonly lion. And athletics, only for men, with out cloth, women barred from viewing.
