For ease of servicing the engine in front might be better. The powertrain in the rear requires special lifts to drop motor transmission out the bottom for major servicing.

Very simple. REAR! There is less noise in the passeneger area (unless your all the way in the back) due to the doppler effect and your not running a multi piece driveshaft (vibration) as you would need to if the engine is up front. Another big plus with the engine in the rear (A.K.A. old Volkswagen bugs) is that there is extra weight on the drive wheels which is great for traction in the snow. The big minus for rear engined buses is if the bus gets into a frontal collision the driver and passengers in the front seats usually get squished like a pancake! Bottom line, when you ride in a bus always sit in the rear quarter of the vehicle!

Well, I'd guess it depends on what you're looking for. I know that front engine buses have an emergency door at the back, as opposed to en emergency window on the rear engine type. This may make it easier to evacuate students with certain special needs, if need be.
I don't know if what I have heard about the two different types of buses is true or not, but I have heard front engine buses are less expensive to purchase than rear engine buses. So if you're looking for a less expensive bus, the front engine type is for you.
I have heard rear engine buses tend to do better on hills than front engine buses. If you live in a rather hilly area, the rear engine type may be a better fit. Although, I grew up in a rather hilly part of Upstate New York (most of Upstate New York is either hilly or mountainous), and the school district I grew up in had mostly front engine buses (and a few dog nose buses). Those didn't seem too bad on hills.
I have also heard that the rear engine bus has more seating capacity. This type may be good for larger school districts, and school districts that are trying to cut back on the number of buses on the road. But then again, the school district I grew up in was one of the fastest growing districts in New York State. We seemed to make out ok with only front engine (and a few dog nose) buses.

I think rear engine bus is good.Because i avoids noise. It improves better performance by make better displacement of power between the front and rear wheels. Also gives more space.

WELL, I WOULD THINK THE ENGINE IN THE FRONT, OBVIOUSLY THE ENGINE IN FRONT WOULD COMPENSATE FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE PASSENGERS WHICH IS I WOULD HOPE IS BEHIND THE DRIVER.
