if a substitutions mutation accured in rna what would happen ?

mostly unless the particular gene on the DNA is defective the effect of a mutation on an rna like m RNA is transient as the mRNA is destroyed by RNAses after being used once or a couple of times at most. and the defective protein formed does not have a long enough life span to create havoc in the system and is eventually destroyed by the lysosomal enzymes.

Two possible results:
1. The substitution causes no change. An mRNA codon chart shows that some amino acids have several possible codons. So the substitution may change the codon to another codon that asks for the same amino acid.
2. Codon changes to call for a different amino acid; protein is different.
