The Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church, this leadership has been a continuous line from Peter the first leader and you can trace the lineage to Benedict in the present age. He is a very highly intelligent man and has written many books. It a very tough job just like all jobs where you are leading a large group of diversified peoples.
Most people couldn't handle the job for 2 minutes' leadership jobs are not for whiners and couch critics. It is really rude to criticize any leader. Rudeness towards them seems to be the only thing the media knows how to do and they have passed their legacy on to those who sit and watch TV all the time thinking they are really learning truth.

what's the objective of having a Pope? No objective. only the Catholics & Orthodox choose the Pope. The call "Christian" became given to the followers of Christ. this implies that Jesus is our excessive priest continuously. What approximately followers of Popes? they are stated as Catholics and Orthodox. i'm hoping the Pope save them. The Bible says of Jesus that there is not any different call via which men could be saved Acts 4:12. (No objective for the Pope) there is in basic terms one mediator between God and men, and that's Jesus Christ one million Timothy 2:5. (No objective for the Pope) As you will discover that there is not any Biblical commencing up for claiming to be a representative of Christ on earth. No guy could do what Christ has executed or what Christ is now doing on behalf of humankind. Jesus Christ is the guy who says he will construct His church, He under no circumstances delegates this ability. This “vicar of Christ” isn't a clergyman, excessive priest, bishop or any pope. the sole Biblical “vicar of Christ” is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our Counselor, instructor (John 14:26) and instruction manual into all reality (John sixteen:thirteen).

A long time ago, Popes had a lot more political power, and ruled over people. Now, they are more of a figurehead, a spiritual leader to guide people, set examples, and answer tough spiritual questions. But, I think many people would say that having a Pope is simply just to keep up with tradition, and that they don't know what's going on and are out of touch with the real world.

Every organization need a director, a leader. Our body has the mind, a country has a President, Catholic Church has Pope.

It's quite simple. It depends on us how much we accept to follow the way of thinking of a leader.

(As for the napping, that was a habit of the previous Pope John-Paul II, cause of the age)

We have a Pope so my husband can say "It's enough to piss off the Pope" when he gets irritated about something. And so we can make jokes about him-you know like "Only the good die young" I'm just kidding though. I'm probly going to hell for saying that!

John 21:15-17 states:

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."

He then said to him a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep."

He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, "Do you love me?" and he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." (Jesus) said to him, "Feed my sheep.

Matthew 16:17-19 states:

Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

The Catholic Church believes the Lord made Simon alone, whom he named Peter, the "rock" of his Church. He gave him the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole flock.

The Pope is the senior pastor of 1.1 billion Catholics, the direct successor of Simon Peter.

The Pope’s main roles include teaching, sanctifying, and governing.

With love in Christ.
