No, your'e thinking of an Opthamologist. Epistemological means the Philosophic study of Knowledge. P.S. Optometrist is a person who checks eyes, prescribes glasses. Opthamologist is an MD that diagnoses eye diseases and does eye surgery. Huge difference.

Epistemology is the study of knowledge: What is the nature of human knowledge? What are its presuppositions and foundations? What is the extent of human knowledge? How do we know when it's valid? I've never heard of someone being called an "epistemologist". It's a safe bet that such a person would be called a philosopher. (FYI: optometrist is an eye doctor.) You should probably explain more about why your experience was traumatic if you want more specific help.

Er,,,,no.

"What color is it?"

You could see it as a nightmare and all characters are the same person.... but they are different characters. They ask the question for different reasons.

"if you had simply answered "red," this whole painful discussion would have been avoided."
