it's ok for him to be close to his parents but not too much

I don't think that it's weird. He is their child no matter how old he is. I think that it shows a close family bond. I was married to someone that was close to his parents that way. I mean they didn't call him everyday, but they did talk often. His entire family was very close. I think that it has made him a better father, and has taught him how to bond with our children and they know that they can come to me or their father in any situation at anytime, and that's not weird.

That's tough. I understand where you're coming from. I thought it was weird too because my husbands talks to his family every day. It started to become a problem because it would interfere with our family time, so we came to a compromise. He talks to them during his one hour commute home from work. That way he gets some company on his drive home and they're not taking away from his family time with me.
I appreciate that he's close with his family and I knew that going into our marriage. Plus, it just proves that family is a priority to him and I know he's going to make a terrific father.

My boyfriend's parents are like that and I HATE It. I like that they are close but not that close. It's annoying and then they start to get in the way of our personal lives and I don't know, time to cut the umbilical cord ya know. If I had known earlier in the relationship that I'd practical be dating his mom too I would have ended it a lot longer ago.

I did marry someone that close in fact when we were married we bought a house right across the street from his parents house hows that for close.

There is no reason that a parent should not be able to call their children, especially if they are single. This shows their love and concern.
Now, if they are totally running his life, that is another thing! I would definitely be leery.
