My sister in law is having trouble with her compt and I thought I would ask here because she cant afford to take it in right now. She thinks the prob is a networking problem. can you help and give advice on what may be wrong. Her compt will not work it shuts down

Please post LOTS AND LOTS of details! There are plenty of computer gurus with UBER 1337 skills in this area. I for one am in college for computers, and would be glad to help you! Answer this:
1. Kind of computer
2. Operating system
3. what kind of network connection?
4. Wireless or wired
5. how long before it shuts down
6. any error messages?
7. how did the problem start?
8. anything else you think might be helpful

Well It's impossible to diagnose the problem without all of the facts and information.....but I cannot think of one single instance where a "networking" problem would cause the computer to shut down. Possibly provide more details and we could see what kind of assistance we could provide.

Could be a virus. Some viruses shutdown the PC to be annoying. The shutdown is normally about 60 seconds after it starts up.

If the computer shuts down unexpectedly, it is not the networking that is at fault.
