may i know whether 8XDVD+/- with double layer can burn HDVD-9 or not? I dont now why my dvd rom cant burn HDVD-9 and it just can play. It can burn CDs and DVD but HDVD-9 cannot. Could anyone help me? thanks

It is too big for one disc, and you'd probably need a special dual-layer drive to burn a dual-layer disc.
Try shrinking it down to fit on one disk. You can try DVD shrink for free here:

DVD 9 is a double layer dvd. Single layer dvds are dvd 5. To burn double layer dvds, you need a drive capable of it, blank double layer dvds, and burning software that can recognize the double layer burner and media.

It takes a special kind of drive to be able to burn dual layer DVDs. Check on the front of the drive - if it doesn't say "double layer" (or sometimes shortened to "DL") then it's not capable.
