Which types of personality disorders are most likely to use/abuse illegal drugs?

anyone who gets bored or curious might use drugs. You don't have to have a disorder. Most people try smoking pot, at least a couple times.

My brother has tried every type of drug you can think of excluding Heroin. He was always different from the rest of my family, more quiet, sullen, different sense of humour etc and hated joining in any family gatherings, he always had mates but was never close to anyone in the family. His Drug abuse over the years has led to him being diagnosed paranoid Schizophrenic and it has given him the most violent temper that I have ever seen on a person. His shrink has said in discussions with him and my mother that this side to his personality was always there but the drugs aggravated it and brought it out in him. He blames my mother for everything that is wrong with him and tells her that he was unloved as a child and he remembers things differently from me from when we were kids again all effects from his disorder and his drug abuse. He also abuses alcohol on occasions.

I agree that people with addictive personalities can be drawn into the drug culture but I also feel that anyone who is unhappy with themselves and their lives will also be drawn into this also, as will those who are easily led by their peers.

Depression, borderline personality disorder, addictive personalities, anxiety disorder and bipolar. These are all I can think of right now.

you dont have to have a personality disorder to influence you to do such things, apart from stupidity. its the drugs itself that creates these disorders.
