First, you need to consider the main presupposition to the reasons for choosing abortion: I assume nearly all of those getting an abortion and all of those who provide them assume that the aborted embryo or fetus is not truly a human being. People opposed to abortion don't agree with this obviously, but they have to come to realize that it's true that many serious, thoughtful, intelligent, and moral people believe this. It makes no sense for doctors to spend so much time and effort saving lives and then set aside a certain amount of time each week to commit what they believe to be murder.
And here is a logical observation following from that: most pro-life people don't believe it either. If they truly did, and if they truly had a conscience, abortion clinics all over the country would be under attack constantly. And I mean serious, violent attack. Their leaders would not be counseling non-violence any more than resistance leaders in World War II counseled non-violence in fighting the German holocaust. I absolutely am not advocating this myself; I'm just making the observation that you can tell what people really believe by their actions (or, as in this case, lack of action).
Given all this, I'm not sure the reasons for abortions are that important other than that we can work to prevent many of them. Obviously, most of the pregnancies are simply unwanted for one reason or another. I think pro-life and pro-choice supporters alike can agree that in this day and age it is amazing that there are over one million unplanned/unwanted pregnancies in the U.S. each year. Why don't we all agree to do whatever we can to stop that problem in the first place?

It's obvious that the two main reasons could either be not having enough money to support a baby, or not having the support period for a baby. But if you just don't want a baby, adoption is the best option--assuming the person has not the slightest clue of what abstinence means/is. I would NOT suggest abortion, because I believe that even if the organism is still a fetus, it was "born INTO the world". Removing it with a vacuum is barbaric.

under uk regulation (Im undecided approximately us) a toddler could be aborted on the newest time of 24 weeks, toddlers have been waiting to proceed to exist outdoors the womb at 22 weeks (admitadely with existence help etc and the type of toddlers who proceed to exist right this moment is particularly low), so how is it marvelous that a toddler could be aborted at 24 weeks yet a youthful toddler interior the comparable portion of the medical institution might have docs combating for its existence. Now purely by using fact the regulation says its criminal to abort a toddler doesnt stop the fact the toddler is being killed. That suggested i will understand why people have abortions, and in some respects they seem to be a necarserry evil.

The main reason to choose abortion is not wanting to or being ready to have a baby. It can be due to having been irresponsible with birth control or merely an accident. Since I don't know how you'd make anyone want to have babies if they don't already want one, it would be difficult to find a solution to it. Offering more education and availability of inexpensive or free birth control could help, I imagine, especially for younger girls.

I'm lost already. lol
Okay. You're asking what are the main reasons to choose it then you're asking for help in identify a solution?
The solution to abortion is to never get pregnant in the first place. How do we prevent unwanted pregnancy? Education doesn't seem to work so I'm lost again.

If your not emotionally ready to raise a child then you should think about it or even putting your child up for adoption. If you can't afford to raise your child and live comfortably, yea sure there are programs to help you and pay for everything which is great but if you dont have a support system to help you get off those programs when necessary then your abusing the system. If you are too young, if you have been raped, if it belongs to someone that your related to, if you have some rare disorder that would leave you dead after having a child...etc.

If I had to guess, I would think the main reasons for choosing to abort a child are the unpreparedness, inability, or unwillingness to be a mother. Pressure by the male partner could be another reason. I think the abortions that are conducted due to rape or incest are likely not the majority.

Sadly, I think most people choose abortion because they had a one night stand, their partner doesn't want to keep the baby or they just use abortion as birth control. That makes me angry. If people are old enough to have sex, they are smart enough to use protection. I believe in abortion for women who have been raped or sexually abused. Otherwise, I think people should think before they act and not get themselves in that situation. Abortion should not be used as birth control.

1- you don't feel you're ready to be a mother.
like you don't have time, support or money for example.
3- you don't want this chiled to be X's son.
4- you don't want to be a single mom.
its better to get answers from women who already had to make such decision.
my personal openion, a chiled who is 1 day old inside his mother is the same doctor or engineer or that cool guy after 30 years, so abortion is actually killing that 30years old doctor or engineer or cool guy.
its just like shooting at them without looking in thier eyes, what a shame.

Worst case senerio a 12 year old gets raped and then as a result she becomes pregnant. What would you do if this was your daughter. , If the person is able minded and there is no reason for her not to have the baby, but just does not want one. well, thats totally wrong.
